ProStaffing is partnering with the Backpack Program of The Corner Table to fight child hunger. The Corner Table is a non-profit organization located in the Catawba County area. The Corner Table offers many opportunities to volunteer.

Lunch Service
The Corner Table serves Monday – Friday from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, during this time an average of 165 guests are served. Lunch Service volunteers are crucial to the smooth functioning of this setup, as they assist with various tasks, including serving tables, preparing trays, refilling drinks, distributing desserts and silverware, cleaning tables, providing to-go- bags, handling trash disposal, washing dishes, and other duties leading up to lunchtime.
Pack Backpacks
The Backpack program is dedicated to supporting children in more than forty local schools in Catawba and Alexander County who experience hunger over the weekends. Throughout each school week, The Corner Table ensures that over 1,200 children are provided with a substantial bag of food. Volunteers will assist with filling the bags, and, occasionally, delivering the food.
Stockroom Worker
Stockroom volunteers are needed on Fridays. As a stockroom helper, your responsibilities will involve weighing food, verifying expiration dates, stocking donated items, and ensuring the stockroom remains organized. Additionally, you will assist with pick-ups and deliveries as needed and work in the back during the lunch hour. The time commitment for this role is 3-4 hours, making it a manageable and rewarding experience for the right volunteer!
Friday To-Go-Bags
You or your group can volunteer to provide or make to-go bags to hand out to guests on Fridays. The Corner Table has groups who purchase the materials for the bags and other groups who volunteer to assemble the bags. Each Friday volunteers hand out more than 150 bags to guests. This opportunity is great for children!
